MxD, the nation’s digital manufacturing and cybersecurity institute, announced that it has launched the MxD Cyber Resource Hub to serve as a clearinghouse for MxD’s entire suite of cybersecurity tools and content. Resources exclusive to MxD include the MxD Cyber Marketplace and CMMC 2.0 Playbook, to increase the cyber-preparedness and compliance of US manufacturers, they note. Additional resources include podcasts, webinars, videos, and articles focused on cybersecurity.
“The manufacturing sector is now the most-targeted sector for cybersecurity attacks,” said Berardino Baratta, MxD CEO. “Manufacturers represented almost 25% of all cyber-attacks in 2021. The MxD Cyber Resource Hub provides a space where manufacturers can begin their cyber-journey, educate themselves on potential threats, and increase their cyber-resilience.”
Risks of a cyber-attack are expected to double by 2025 and the manufacturing industry faces unprecedented complexity as business owners seek to secure operations, per MxD. Of the nation’s 250,000 manufacturers, 75% have fewer than 20 employees and lack the specialized workforce to prioritize minimizing risks of cyber-attacks. Often an attack can go undetected for months due to a lack of cyber awareness.
As the National Center for Cybersecurity in Manufacturing, MxD is charged with elevating the cyber-readiness of all US manufacturers. MxD says it is committed to being a resource for manufacturers on their cyber-journey by providing up-to-date information and tools to assist in cybersecurity development. The MxD Cyber Resource Hub will be continually updated and expanded to support these goals.
